The Customs Museum is a curiosity in a once very poor canton, where many men had to seek their livelihood through illegal cross-border trade. Located on the opposite shore of the lake, across from Lugano, and reachable only by boat. The museum is designed to be carefree and fun, and displays some of the imaginative techniques developed by those who were determined to accomplish their tasks. Depending on the size of the group and the amount of time available, a stop at the local grotto and/or a nice walk under the chestnut trees by the lake can be added to the tour.
